Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues finalize a trade
Alexandre Texier, a former second round pick, has been traded to the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Alexandre Texier was acquired by the Blues from the Blue Jackets in exchange for a mid-round pick, according to Chris Johnston of TSN. Johnston said, "The Blues have also agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $4.2 million ($2.1 million AAV) with the recently acquired forward."
"The #stlblues have acquired Alexandre Texier from #CBJ for a mid-round draft pick and, per @PuckPedia, signed him to a two-year extension carrying a $2.1M AAV." Johnston said.
After spending a year in Europe, Texier, 24, struggled at times with the Blue Jackets but made a successful comeback to the NHL last season, setting new career highs in goals, assists, and points. The Frenchman from Saint-Martin-d'Heres had 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 78 games, 38 penalty minutes, and a minus-five rating.
