After a Hall of Fame worthy career, veteran forward Joe Pavelski has announced his return from the NHL and Dallas Stars.

With the Dallas Stars loss to the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 6, ending their season run, many in the hockey hockey world wondered if we'd seen the end of Joe Pavelski.

Pavelski, in his sixth season with the Stars, had yet another strong campaign in 202324. He scored 67 points and 27 goals in 82 games. During the playoffs, Pavelski, 39, started to show his age. At times, it seemed like the game's pace was too much for him. Only one goal and four points were scored by Pavelski in the Stars' 19-game playoff run.

This summer, the Wisconsin native is a potential UFA. Pavelski left a lasting impression on everyone he saw in combat, even if this is the final time we see him wear an NHL uniform.

After the game Dallas head coach Pete DeBoer said that it was a privilege to coach Pavelski. This was DeBoer's second time coaching Joe, who had him in San Jose. DeBoer credited Joe for helping him communicate with players and help sell the team's vision on the right way to play to have success.

«I don't know if it'll be Joe's last game or not, but absolute privilege of my coaching career to coach a guy like that,»

«Our young players are all better for having been around a guy like that.»

Today Pavelski confirmed the news:

Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski says «this is it for me.» Says it's not official official, but said it was known for a long time that this was his last go. «Plan is not to play next season.»
