Peckham was mostly known for big hits and the occasional fight, making him an enforcer of sorts. However, in an interview with Jason Gregor, he revealed that he was just not ready for the NHL lifestyle. In the end, his maturity at the time was lacking and he could not handle the pressure.
He also spoke about being raised by a single mother in a broken home. These things weighed on him and he was simply unable to adjust to the fame and money that was being given to him. Not to mention, it seems like the training was also something he could never really get in tune with, even despite it being such a major part of the NHL grind.
