Immediately after clearing waivers and having his contract terminated by the Penguins, Egor Zamula has agreed to join the rival Columbus Blue Jackets.

Egor Zamula has already found his next club, which is now the third in just a short span of days.
Following the clearing of waivers and the termination of his contract by the Penguins, he became a free agent today and instantaneously signed a one-year contract with the rival Columbus Blue Jackets, according to his representative, Dan Milstein.
This deal completes a tumultuous stint in the short span of less than a week with the Penguins and Flyers.

Who the Penguins gave up to acquire Egor Zamula

The Penguins acquired the 25-year-old defenseman from Philadelphia only five days ago in a trade in which Philip Tomasino was sent the other way to Philly.
Zamula played no games with Pittsburgh, as he was assigned to the Penguins' AHL affiliate, but he failed to report, which garnered punishment, and subsequently, he parted ways with the Penguins.

Why Egor Zamula's stats are nothing to write home about

However, prior to all the changes that occurred, the bulk of Zamula's time was within the Flyers' system. In 13 matches with the NHL team, he amassed just one assist and played sporadically on the third defensive pair.
However, he also suited up for three games with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms, chipping in two assists there.
Now with Columbus, Zamula has a blank slate and an opportunity to compete for defensive depth on a Blue Jackets team that is still evaluating its roster and figuring out ways to move up the standings.
