Jaromir Jagr announces retirement from hockey ahead of 37th professional season
Jaromir Jagr has had a sensational career in hockey and now, it appears as though it is finally coming to an end.
Jagr has been playing professional hockey since 1988 which makes his current season with the Kladno Knights his 37th. The ageless wonder is currently 52 years old, and his longevity is unfathomable at this point. However, all good things must come to an end, and Jagr is not exempt from this universal rule.
According to a report from his agent, Jagr will be retiring at the end of this season. He is currently playing for Kladno in the Czech professional league which is a franchise that he actually owns.

Heading into the season, Jagr had a hamstring injury of sorts so it was kind of inevitable that he would make this decision. Having said that, he is committed to playing out the entire year for the fans.
Furthermore, he notched an assist today which shows that he still has it. In fact, he has notched a point in every single one of his 37 professional ice hockey seasons.
Jagr finished his NHL career with a total of 1733 games played and 1921 points. 766 of those points were goals, making him one of the best goal-scorers in the history of the National Hockey League. His last season came in 2017-18 with the Calgary Flames, where his last NHL goal was assisted by Johnny Gaudreau.
