Marc-Andre Fleury just fueled NHL comeback buzz, and Pittsburgh Penguins fans can feel the pull.

On Monday morning, two social posts hit at once, one saying Flower looked sharp in St. Paul.
Then Allan Walsh posted "Flower training!", and suddenly it felt louder than a casual skate.
Fleury is retired, officially, after his 2024-25 season ended in Minnesota.
But retirement has not stopped him from strapping the pads on around Wild practices in 2025-26.
The key detail for Penguins fans is simple: Fleury is not under contract anymore, so a return would be a brand-new signing.
He also showed, recently, that a "one more time in black and gold" idea is not fantasy, after his Penguins PTO moment last fall.
In his final NHL season, he still put up real nights between the pipes, going 14-9-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Marc-Andre Fleury still fits Pittsburgh Penguins chaos

Penguins fans would sprint through a wall for that story again, because the room has felt like it needs a jolt.
If Pittsburgh gets squeezed by injuries or shaky goaltending, the door is at least technically open.
A minimum, pro-rated cap hit would be manageable, but the roster math would get tight fast.
This season’s Penguins crease has already been a moving target, even after the team added Arturs Silovs to the mix.
The reality check is that Fleury has never sounded eager to grind a full season again, even if teams call.
Still, a few crisp clips on a Monday can make an old idea feel brand new in Pittsburgh.
