Massive NFL brawl proves football players yearn for NHL's fighting rules

Hockey is a very unique sport due to the fact that it allows its players to get into boxing matches during the middle of a game, without any real significant penalties.
Okay sure, you may get five minutes in the penalty box, but that is nothing compared to what you would get in many other sports. For instance, brawls in the NBA have led to multiple-game suspensions. As for the NFL, you will get kicked out of the match if you step too far out of line.
On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers were playing each other in L.A. and a fight broke out. As you can see down below, it was a significant brawl, especially as the NFL is concerned. If you were watching on TV, it was pretty entertaining and the fans were definitely enjoying the show.

Having said that, it begs the question: why hasn't the NFL instituted fighting rules yet? It appears as though the players are yearning for it. Football is an aggressive sport and tempers run hot. Instead of cheap shot hits, a fight between a wide receiver and a cornerback could prove to be a smart alternative.
Of course, the NFL would never do that. Although sometimes, it is fun to think about. Some NFL players have expressed just how cool it is that hockey players are allowed to fight as they do. it is why the NHL and hockey as a whole remains one of the most unique sports on the planet.
