Maxime St-Cyr rescues elderly driver after Highway 73 crash, teammates pull her from flipped car

TVA Nouvelles frames Maxime St-Cyr's Highway 73 rescue as his account, not a police verdict, and it still lands like a punch.
Maxime St-Cyr, a forward with the Saint-Hyacinthe Bataillon in Quebec's LNAH, was driving home after a road game in Saint-Georges on Friday, January 30.
He says a car ripped by at a scary speed just after midnight, then started drifting and zigzagging.
Seconds later, St-Cyr says it hit a snowbank nearly sideways and flipped onto its roof.
The part that matters is what happened next, because nobody waited for someone else to be the hero.
St-Cyr called 911 while three teammates ran straight to the wreck, reached in, and pulled the driver out.
They moved her into their own vehicle to warm her up and keep her calm until help arrived.
"Within seconds of all this happening, all of a sudden, here are these guys going, 'Are you OK? Are you OK?'" Johnson recalls. "I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm OK.' And there's this arm reaching in and unclicking the seatbelt strap, and they pull me out."

Hockey fans love goals, but this is the stuff that makes you proud to be part of the same sport, even from the couch.
Quebec provincial police said the worst was avoided, and TVA reported the woman later declined transport to the hospital.
Bataillon owner Guillaume Latendresse praised the group for showing what's under the jersey.
For the NHL world in 2025-26, it's a reminder that "team" is not just a bench thing, it's a reflex.
If you can sprint into a flipped car at midnight, you can block a shot late, win a board battle, and look after the guy next to you.
That's the real takeaway heading into the stretch run, because character shows up before the puck drops.
