NHL Expanding Global Series to Include New Countries This Year
The NHL is keeping pace with other major leagues by expanding its international presence. Commissioner Gary Bettman's push for global games is gaining momentum, building on the success of recent matchups played abroad.
Following last November's successful games in Sweden, the NHL has announced its next lineup of global series, featuring three familiar international hockey hubs.
First, the Buffalo Sabres will travel to Munich, Germany for an exhibition game, tapping into the growing hockey interest in the country driven by stars like Draisaitl and Stutzle.
Then, the NHL will kick off its season with a bang by hosting two games in Prague, Czech Republic, featuring the Buffalo Sabres against the New Jersey Devils.
