Roberto Luongo joins Beer League team and lets in two goals: watch
Roberto Luongo is an NHL legend who needs no introduction as he is a Hall of Famer with plenty of accolades to his name.
These days, Luongo works with the Florida Panthers front office. In fact, he recently won his first Stanley Cup, albeit as an executive and not a player. Regardless, it must have been an incredible moment for him. He has been through a lot as a player, and the fans have always rooted for him.
Luongo is someone with a sense of humor, and he is also someone who likes to have fun. When the former goalie saw a Facebook ad from a Beer League team looking for a replacement goalie, it's no surprise he sprung into action. Below, you can see the incredible moment where he walked into the locker room with his equipment on.
The team was over the moon to have him there. Although it did feel like there were some players who perhaps didn't know who he was. Either way, the team was playing the five-time defending champs and they needed a good result. They ended up getting just that as they won the match by a score of 4-2.
That begs the question...who are the two players that scored? If you can score on a former NHL goalie, albeit five years removed from the league, you have to be pretty damn good.
Do you believe Luongo deserved to make the Hall of Fame? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
