Sidney Crosby is piling up points again for Team Canada, and Pittsburgh Penguins fans are watching every shift like it’s May.
Sunday’s Group A game versus France turned into a track meet fast.
As of the end of the second period, Canada led 6-1, and Crosby already had two assists and one goal.
Those points pushed Crosby to 2-4-6 through three games at Milano Cortina 2026.
That puts him near the very top, but not alone, because this tournament is loaded with stars.
Crosby is, however, the all-time points leader in terms of the most by a Team Canada player in the Olympics featuring NHL players.
The funny part is those old posts still fit the vibe, Crosby keeps unlocking “another milestone,” and it still feels real in 2026.
His touch on Devon Toews’ first-period goal was classic, quick support, quick pass, no hesitation.
Then he found the seam again on the Cale Makar power-play blast.
Sidney Crosby fuels Team Canada while Connor McDavid erupts
You can feel Canadian fans getting greedy, because this looks like a gold-or-bust roster when it’s clicking.
McDavid didn’t just “add two,” he tilted the whole game with two more assists.
Those two assists gave him 1-7-8, which is the kind of pace that breaks a round robin.
It also means Crosby is not in first place right now, even with the strong start.
The Penguins angle is simple, Crosby’s game scales up when the pressure goes up.
The Team Canada angle is even simpler, his line still wins the hard areas, and that makes the skill guys lethal on the next touch.
If France has to chase McDavid’s speed up top, Crosby keeps getting that second-layer space below the dots.
That’s how Canada turns good shifts into crooked numbers, and why the medal rounds should be loud.
