Texas high school game ends in huge brawl off the ice
At the conclusion of a high school hockey game in Texas, players and spectators engaged into a big brawl as emotions ran high.
High school hockey games have historically seen fights because parents and players occasionally have a tendency to take things too seriously and lose their cool. This one appeared to be straight out of a riot.
Social media users claim that the video was shot after a Texas high school game between Frisco and Plane. On the other hand, there are others surrounding him who are skating, a player who is being hurled by an opponent like a bag of potatoes, and a stroller that looks like it's holding a baby in the center of it all.
While it is nice to witness passion during a game, especially in minor hockey, this kind of behavior has all too often become the norm. It has resulted in a dearth of officials who are prepared to tolerate the abuse that goes along with the job and hasn't done anything to dispel the stale notion that hockey is a violent, kid-unsuitable sport.
