Top NHL prospects girlfriend shares he may never come to America
Alexander Nikishin, a top prospect for the Carolina Hurricanes, recently made a startling admission about his hockey career's future from his girlfriend.
It was believed that Alexander Nikishin, a 2020 prospect for the Carolina Hurricanes who was selected 69th overall, was trying to travel to North America at some time in order to join the Hurricanes organization. However, it appears that he is no longer doing so.
In response to questions concerning if Nikishin's contract is up in a year and whether they intend to join the Hurricanes organization, Varvara Subbotina, Nikishin's girlfriend, reportedly told Izvestia the following:
in a year, his contract expires with SKA expires. Already looking for housing in Carolina?
Ha ha ha. We don't raise this topic at home. I don't know for sure whether he will go to the NHL in a year or when he even will go to Carolina. Accordingly I haven't thought about moving yet

It appears that SKA, who seemed to have permitted Michkov to visit North America the following year, do not want Nikishin to follow suit.
There were rumors that he would sign with the Hurricanes after his contract expired, but if this is any indication, that may not happen after all.
It's definitely something to watch out for.
