Tragic News Strikes The Hockey Community As Former NHL Enforcer Passes Away
The hockey community mourns the loss of Chris Simon, who has passed away at the age of 52.
A formidable presence on the ice, Simon was drafted 25th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1990 NHL draft. Over his career, he became known as one of the league's most notable enforcers, playing 782 NHL games, netting 144 goals, contributing 305 points, and accruing an astounding 1,824 penalty minutes.
His journey through the NHL saw him donning jerseys for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, and the Minnesota Wild.
Simon's professional career concluded with the 2012-13 season at Novokuznetsk Metallurg in the KHL. As news of his passing spreads, we extend our deepest sympathies to Chris Simon's family, friends, and former teammates during this heartbreaking time.
