Trailblazing former QMJHL star Janne Puhakka allegedly murdered by his partner
Janne Puhakka was a top QMJHL star with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens and he was also a trailblazer as an openly gay hockey player.
Since leaving the QMJHL, Puhakka has played in the Finnish league LIIGA which is where many incredible players have gone before. However, Puhakka was the victim of a brutal crime, according to Finnish sources. His 66-year-old spouse Rolf Nordmo is currently accused of allegedly murdering Puhakka with a gun.
Below, you can find comments made by the investigator on the case. Essentially, they found Puhakka dead in his home and they are describing the scene as "cruel."
"THE POLICE are investigating a suspected m****r in Henttaa, Espoo.
According to IS information, the (crime) took place on Sunday evening at the property where ex-hockey player Janne Puhakka , 29, and his partner, Norwegian veterinarian Rolf Nordmo , 66, live. [...] The police will not confirm the identities of the parties involved.

Our thoughts go out to Puhakka's family and friends during this very difficult time. We cannot imagine what they must be going through right now.
