Boston Bruins targeting Calgary Flames center to replace Patrice Bergeron

On paper the Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames look like perfect trade partners. The Bruins have a need down the middle and the Flames have multiple centers reportedly unwilling to sign long-term extensions.

With the retirement of Patrice Bergeron the Bruins are left with a gaping hole at center. Especially if rumors of David Krejci's retirement are also true. This has left the Bruins working the phones looking for a solution.

Jimmy is currently reporting , the Bruins could be a fit for Flames center Elias Lindholm. It was reported earlier this summer that Lindholm is leaning towards not extending with the Flames, which would make him an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The Calgary Flames have their own concerns to address as well. The Flames are in search for a scoring winger to replace Tyler Toffoli, who they traded earlier this summer. Murphy added that in any Lindholm trade, Jake DeBrusk would be the Flames target.

"If the Bruins want Lindholm, likely [Jake] DeBrusk," a source told Murphy. "They don't want any picks, and the Bruins have none. They want a scoring winger that can make up for [Tyler] Toffoli being traded. There's probably more that would be in that trade, but DeBrusk would be the target, I think."
