Jason Robertson trade chatter has Pittsburgh Penguins fans buzzing, because the Pens really do have the assets to make it real.

The latest noise ties Pittsburgh to Dallas if the Stars ever decide they cannot let a superstar walk.
If Robertson even sniffs the market, it is because the price is brutal and the stakes are massive.
He is producing like a true top-line hammer, sitting at 29-29-58 this season.
That kind of winger changes your top-six and your man advantage in one night.
Dallas also has the contract calendar staring them down, with Robertson entering the final year of his deal at a $7.75 million average.
So, do the Penguins have enough to get Dallas to pick up the phone? Yeah, they do.
They are one of the few teams that can offer picks and legit prospects without emptying the entire cupboard.
Start with the prospect names everyone in the league knows now, Rutger McGroarty, Ville Koivunen, and Owen Pickering.
Add a high pick, and suddenly it looks like a real package, not fantasy.
Cap wise, Pittsburgh is not boxed in the way people assume, with projected space north of $11 million.
They would still likely move a roster salary, but that is mechanics, not a deal breaker.

Jason Robertson could fit the Pittsburgh Penguins now

Honestly, this is the kind of swing Penguins fans have been begging for, because the team feels stuck between "push" and "pivot."
A realistic framework is a 2026 first-rounder, one of McGroarty or Koivunen, and a second piece that Dallas actually wants.
Pickering can be that second piece if the Stars demand a big, cost-controlled blue line option.
If Pittsburgh wants to get cute, Joel Blomqvist has AHL numbers that pop and could be a sweetener.
On the ice, Robertson slides next to Sidney Crosby and suddenly the Penguins have a left-shot finisher who can win shifts without perfect setup.
If this rumor ever turns into a real negotiation, it is not about "can Pittsburgh pay," it is about "how badly do you want the upside" before the next big milestone, the trade deadline.
