Jordan Kyrou is suddenly a prime trade target, and the Penguins can feel the clock ticking.
The latest report says the St. Louis Blues are expected to be busy again once the Winter Olympics roster freeze lifts, with eyes on March 6.
Jordan Kyrou is signed through 2030-31, carries an $8.125 million cap hit, and has a full no-trade clause.
That’s the key part, he controls the door.
The report also says Kyrou would be open to a change of scenery, as long as it’s the right environment.
The social post that pushed this back into the spotlight is here.
In 47 games this season, Kyrou has 13-19-32, which is real offense on a team that’s leaking goals.
St. Louis sits at 20-28-9, and that kind of record makes even “core” names feel movable.
Jordan Kyrou could turbocharge the Pittsburgh Penguins attack
Honestly, Penguins fans would love the idea and hate the cap math at the exact same time.
Pittsburgh is 29-15-12, and the top-six still needs another winger who can win a foot race and finish.
Kyrou’s speed changes how teams defend the neutral zone, and it opens more space on the man advantage.
The dream is obvious, put him with Sidney Crosby and let the puck follow.
The reality is uglier, St. Louis won’t move him for pennies, and Pittsburgh can’t dump salary blindly.
If Kyle Dubas calls, it’s probably a futures-heavy ask, plus a roster player that actually helps the Blues.
If it doesn’t happen by March 6, the report hints the talks could roll into the offseason and heat up again around the Buffalo draft.
Either way, this is the kind of swing that screams “go for it” while Crosby’s window still matters.
