Mason McTavish's future has been up in the air as of late, and now Anthony Di Marco has revealed the likely outcome of his situation with the Anaheim Ducks.
The NHL off-season has been quiet thus far, and while we're closing in on training camp around the league, there are still many intriguing young players around the league that are yet to land new deals.
What could happen with McTavish this off-season?
McTavish has been among the trade speculation this summer, but thus far nothing has happened, despite the former top-five pick expressing plenty of frustration with his current role on the team.
At 22-years of age, McTavish already has 240 NHL games under his belt, posting a career high of 52 points a season ago, but according to Anthony Di Marco, the team may see him as too valuable to move.
Bridge deal incoming for the young Anaheim Ducks star?
In his latest report for
Daily Faceoff, Di Marco gave his final prediction on how the stalemate with McTavish is handled, predicting that a bridge deal would be the way things get done.
I don't think the Ducks will move McTavish; my best guess is that a bridge deal ultimately gets done.
This would be a very surprising outcome given that McTavish has publicly expressed frustration with his dwindling role in Anaheim, and after a breakout season that should see him as a focal point of the team, his role is still unclear.
Ultimately though, McTavish's future in the NHL still appears to be with the Ducks, and if he eventually gets a bridge deal done, he'll set himself up for a massive free agency deal down the line.
