NHL teams are on the hunt for goaltending solutions, and while many goalies are in the spotlight, one name quietly gaining attention is Arizona Coyotes netminder Karel Vejmelka. Former NHL goalie turned insider, Kevin Weekes, spilled the beans on Saturday, revealing that Vejmelka is becoming a hot commodity for teams seeking an upgrade in the goaltending department.

Weekes shared,

"Although he enjoys being an Arizona Coyote, Vejmelka's drawing interest from several teams looking at upgrading their G position. Great value contract and really good metrics since becoming an NHL goalie."

The interest in Vejmelka underscores the urgency some teams feel to address their goaltending challenges. While Vejmelka's stats this season3.50 goals against average and a .892 save percentagearen't exactly stellar, factors like the team's performance in front of him come into play.

However, potential suitors should be mindful of the financial aspect. Vejmelka carries a $2.725 million cap hit per season, signed to a 3-year deal in March 2022. This may pose a challenge for cap-strapped teams dealing with goaltending woes, such as the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the midst of goalie trade talks, it's worth noting that the Carolina Hurricanes recently placed Antti Raanta on waivers, making them a team to watch in this evolving goaltending landscape.
