BREAKING: Two Maple Leafs Stars Have Been Sidelined Moments Before Game
Looks like the flu bug is making its rounds in the Maple Leafs locker room, and it might bench Auston Matthews for tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The illness has already taken its toll on the team, with forward Matthew Knies feeling the brunt. In Tuesday's triumphant 7-3 victory over the New York Rangers, Knies was a late scratch, grappling with the effects of the flu.
The severity of the situation didn't escape TSN commentator Gord Miller, who remarked during the broadcast, "Matthew Knies is really sick, a lot of these guys are very sick."
Now, it appears that the flu has found its way to the star player, Auston Matthews, as he's been confirmed to be out during tonight's alongside with TJ Brodie, The Toronto Maple Leafs will face a massive setback with two key players being out, as they face the Pittsburgh Penguins.
