The Boston Bruins had plenty of buzz swirling around them as the trade deadline approached. Despite exceeding expectations and staying in the mix, there was speculation that they might trade one of their goalies. However, attempts to deal Linus Ullmark hit a snag.

Ullmark Derails Potential Trade

Reports have surfaced confirming the Bruins' intentions to part ways with Linus Ullmark. It reached a point where Ullmark was asked to waive his no-trade clause. Yet, he opted against it, causing the deal to collapse.

"The #Bruins 🇺🇸 had a deal in place to trade reigning Vezina winner Linus Ullmark 🇸🇪 — but he 'nixed' the deal due to the geography of the team he would've been going to.»

Apparently, Ullmark wasn't keen on the city he would have been moved to, prompting his rejection of the trade. Although the team involved hasn't been officially confirmed, one insider hinted at the Los Angeles Kings.

Insider Points to Ullmark's Rejection of New City

Insider Frank Seravalli suggested that the potential trade partner could have been the Los Angeles Kings.

«Fascinating day for #NHLBruins, sounds like they had a deal on the table to move G Linus Ullmark to #LAKings that didn't end up crossing the finish line.»

While there's no official confirmation, many fans have embraced the report. Following the deadline, Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney addressed the almost-trade.

Sweeney on rumors of Ullmark-to-LA: "I really like the tandem we have now. I'm happy we've (stood) pat there ... rumors are rumors. It's not coming from here."

He affirmed their contentment with their goalie duo and clarified that the rumors didn't originate from the Bruins. As the season transitions into the offseason, it'll be intriguing to see if Ullmark stays put in Boston or finds a new home.
