Ottawa Senators forward Parker Kelly faced repercussions for his actions on the ice during Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

His illegal check to the head of Kings defenseman Andreas Englund has led to a suspension.

Kelly's Suspension for Head Hit Confirmed

Following a review by the National Hockey League, Kelly has been handed a two-game suspension and will face a salary deduction.

"Ottawa's Parker Kelly has been suspended for two games for an illegal check to the head on Los Angeles' Andreas Englund." stated the NHL's official announcement.

This season, Kelly has contributed six goals and seven assists in 61 games played for the Senators. Despite his efforts, the team is unlikely to secure a spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs, having last made an appearance in the 2017 playoffs.
