In a recent update, the Colorado Avalanche received some positive news regarding their offense with the return of one of their key forwards.

Valeri Nichushkin Back in Action

Valeri Nichushkin of the Colorado Avalanche has been given the green light by the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program to resume practicing with the team.

«NHL and NHLPA announce Avalanche F Valeri Nichushkin has been cleared to resume practicing with the team and has entered the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program. Nichushkin has not yet been cleared to return to game action.»

Nichushkin entered the program on January 15 without a specific timeline for his return.

In a statement released earlier, Nichushkin shared his decision to seek assistance through the program, emphasizing his dedication to addressing his challenges and preventing further setbacks. He expressed appreciation to his family, the Avalanche organization, and the fans for their support.

The 28-year-old forward has had an impressive season so far, with 22 goals and 20 assists in 40 games. With his return, there's hope that he can surpass his career-best stats of 25 goals and 52 points achieved during the 2021-2022 season with the Avalanche.
