The Pittsburgh Penguins' top trade target for the upcoming NHL Draft emerged, and an insider suggested what Kyle Dubas should do to 'nab him'.

With 11 picks at the 2025 NHL Draft, Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins are in a great position to make massive moves at the trade deadline.
The organization will draft young players to build the foundations for the future of the team, but Dubas could also address immediate needs by trading picks for full-time NHLers.
However, according to Penguins insider Josh Yohe, the team could also decide to trade picks to move up in the draft rankings to target Porter Martone.
Yohe stated that while Martone received interest from many teams, including the Nashville Predators who hold the fifth overall pick, Dubas could be interested in moving up a few spots to "nab him".
In his own words:
"The potential trade-up target: Porter Martone, right wing, Brampton Steelheads (OHL). The Penguins love Martone. He's the rare power forward who could make quite an impact. Nashville is said to like him at No. 5, but if he drops past the Predators, it wouldn't be surprising to see Dubas move up a few spots and nab him."
Martone, 18, expressed his desire to play in the NHL next season, but also his high compete level, an asset that will surely make him an interesting target for teams like the Penguins:
"I want to play in the NHL next year. That's my goal right now. That's the thing on my mind, is to play in the NHL."

"I want to win a Stanley Cup, and I want to do whatever I can to bring a Stanley Cup back to that team. I think that's a goal of mine, since I was a little kid. That's a big thing with NHL teams ... they all want to win a Stanley Cup. That's the end prize and every year you want to be the last team standing. I can bring a lot of different things to the game that could help a team win a Stanley Cup."

Last season, Martone scored 98 points in 57 games with the Brampton Steelheads in the OHL. How he'll perform at the upcoming training camp and which organization picks him will determine where he plays next year, but if the Penguins grab him, it wouldn't be surprising to see him in the NHL in October.
