The Pittsburgh Penguins now have two picks in the lottery in the 2025 NHL Draft, and as a result, they've got one big target that they could select with either pick.

The 2025 NHL Draft is going to be a massive night for some teams around the NHL, and given that the Pittsburgh Penguins are in dire need of some young, emerging talent, they hope to be one of those teams that have success.
After recent developments, they now have the No. 11 and 12 picks in the draft, and while it's not the deepest draft in recent memory, it's safe to say that with two picks in the lottery, the Penguins could end up with two franchise cornerstones for years to come.
In his recent piece for The Athletic, Josh Yohe has revealed one player that the team are almost certain to select with one of those picks, with that being Kashawn Aitcheson, a defenseman from the Barrie Colts.
"Most likely first-round pick: Kashawn Aitcheson, defenseman, Barrie Colts (OHL). He'll probably be on the board at 11 or 12, and the Penguins like him a great deal. He plays a nasty, abrasive game, which Dubas believes the Penguins need. Dubas also has noted that the Penguins need help on the left side of their blue line. Aitcheson would be a safe, sensible pick."
With great size, physicality and the potential to grow as a player, Aitcheson presents as the perfect blue line prospect moving forward for Pittsburgh, and with two picks in the lottery now, they could look to add him and a forward to compliment their solid prospect pool.
According to Yohe, the Penguins love the nasty side of his game, and if he can develop his scoring around that, it's safe to say that the Penguins could hit a home run by using one of their first-round picks on the Barrie Colts star on Friday.
