Penguins Legend Jaromir Jagr Sends Heartfelt Message to Connor McDavid
Connor McDavid is under all sorts of pressure right now, but ahead of Game 6, Jaromir Jagr has sent a heartfelt message to the Edmonton Oilers captain.
Throughout his career, Connor McDavid has proven to be at a different level to 99% of players in the NHL, and now, he finds himself just two wins away from winning his first Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers.
There's immense pressure on his shoulders as the captain of a Canadian team, and after last seasons disappointment, the pressure has continued to mount for him to finally win a Cup as the NHL's best player.
While that comes with plenty of negativity, in a recent interview, Jaromir Jagr had nothing but nice things to say about McDavid, giving him some of the highest possible praise.
"I respect the game he plays. It's fun to watch. The way he plays, he sometimes makes very good players look silly. And it's special. I always admire people who are greater than the rest of 'em. I believe in God. So, I can see the God in him. It's something that's great. I always appreciate it. Because it's got to be something more than the rest of us.

At the end of his sentiment, he compares McDavid to Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, and while he's yet to achieve the same team success as those two did, he certainly has separated himself as the best player in the NHL.
Ultimately, to get to historic, iconic status, McDavid needs to win at least one, if not multiple Stanley Cups, and on the back of these amazing, heartfelt words from Jagr, he'll try lead the Oilers back from a 3-2 deficit to claim his first ever Cup.
