Earlier in the season, the Chicago Blackhawks made headlines by ending Corey Perry's contract due to an off-ice incident. Now, there's a significant update regarding the fallout from that decision.
Corey Perry's Blackhawks Contract Saga Finds Resolution
Negotiations have been ongoing between the NHL and the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA) concerning Perry's abrupt contract termination. While the NHLPA stopped short of filing a grievance, they were actively seeking compensation for Perry's lost contract earnings. Joe Smith reports that a settlement has been reached.
According to Smith,
"Hearing the NHLPA has reached an agreement with the NHL and Blackhawks to come to a settlement regarding Corey Perry's contract termination issue. A deadline for Perry to file a grievance had been extended, but ultimately, no official grievance was filed."
