Florida Panthers Get Concerning News on Sam Reinhart Ahead of Game 3
Sam Reinhart has been a key for these Panthers in their recent runs, but now, he'll miss a critical Game 3 at home after suffering an injury in Game 2.
Through two games of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Florida Panthers have absolutely dominated, outscoring the Carolina Hurricanes 10-2 as the series shifts back to Florida with the defending Champions leading 2-0.
Late in Game 2 however, the team suffered a major injury scare when Sam Reinhart was hit from the blind side by
Sebastian Aho, leaving the game early with many concerned about his status for the rest of the series.
The play was clearly a dirty one by Aho as he made contact with Reinhart around the knee, and after waiting patiently for an update, Panthers fans now know about the status of Reinhart moving forward.
On Saturday ahead of Game 3, Paul Maurice revealed that Reinhart would be out, labelling him as day-to-day moving forward, and while that's not the worst news given that it could have been a serious injury that ruled him out for some time, it's definitely a tough break for the team.
As a result, the Panthers once again turn to
Jesper Boqvist, and while the team are still incredibly confident given the depth of stars that they have up front, without Reinhart in the lineup, they're not quite as dominant as they have been thus far in this series.
Ultimately, the hope is that with a few days rest, Reinhart can get back on the ice in this series ahead of a potential Stanley Cup Finals run, but for now, they'll look to take a commanding 3-0 lead without him in their lineup.
