Minnesota Wild's Embarassing Contract Offer to Top Penguins Trade Target Marco Rossi Leaks Publicly

This off-season is vital for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and while many believe they should be looking to acquire assets for the future, it appears as though they're also ready to spend some.
According to reports, Pittsburgh are one of many teams involved in the bidding for Minnesota Wild star Marco Rossi, who, at 23-years of age is an RFA this summer, with many believing he could be traded.
Those reports have grown louder as of late, especially after a recent report from The Athletic reveals the disrespectful offer that General Manager Bill Guerin gave to the young centre this past season.
Guerin made clear during a conversation with The Athletic that there's a certain price point he's willing to go to in contract talks with Rossi - and, so far, Rossi's ask has been significantly higher. The Wild have made two contract offers - five years, $25 million in the winter, per league sources, and a shorter-term offer last week.
Recently, it was revealed that Rossi could seek upwards of $7 million per year on his next deal after a breakout year tallying 24 goals and 60 points in 82 games played, but according to Michael Russo, they offered him just 5x5, and have gone even shorter on their next deal.
This should be something that the Penguins look to take advantage of when they begin discussions with Minnesota, but after this report, it's likely that they will be just one of many teams looking to land the star of the future.
