Patrik Laine hilariously compared to Waluigi thanks to his tacky suit
Patrik Laine was supposed to have an incredible comeback season with the Montreal Canadiens, however, it has been a nightmare of sorts because of his injury.
Now, Laine will be out for at least
two to three months while he recovers from a sprained knee. It is far from ideal, however, there is no doubt that he has time to get better and then eventually make a huge comeback to end off the season. Thankfully, Laine can still show up to games and be a source of inspiration for Canadiens fans.
For instance, last night, Laine received a massive standing ovation before the home opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The fans love him and he was certainly moved by the kind words. Having said that, some fans noticed his wild suit, with one comparing him to the Super Mario character Waluigi.
The suit was purple and he had some interesting accouterments to go with it. To be fair, Laine has always been somewhat of a fashionista. He is always going out there and trying new things, even if some of the fans have negative things to say about what he is wearing. He clearly does not care about the opinions of sheep.
Hopefully, we will get to see Laine back on the ice better than ever. To have a promising season cut short certainly sucks to see. But who knows? Perhaps when he returns he will be helping the Canadiens with a potential playoff push? That would be something.
Do you believe that Patrik Laine can come back and have a strong second half to the NHL season?
