Yaroslav Askarov trade: Barry Trotz gives shocking reason why he changed his mind

Barry Trotz and the Nashville Predators had an incredibly difficult decision to make as soon as Yaroslav Askarov demanded a trade from the team.
Despite claiming that he would not be making any deals, Barry Trotz decided to make a trade anyway. He sent Askarov to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a first-round pick, David Edstrom and Magnus Chrona. It is quite the haul, and as it turns out, Trotz had some interesting reasons for doing it.
While speaking to 102.5 The Game, Trotz admitted that he made the deal because of some concerning things he saw with Askarov. Particularly, his on-ice antics were messing up the vibes out in Milwaukee. From penalties to doing pushups with the net, it is clear that Askarov simply was not a cultural fit for the Predators locker room.
"After I thought about it, when it came out, I really felt that we have such a good vibe on our team in terms of what's going on with our team and organization, I just felt that when it became a little more public, let's get ahead of it," Trotz said. "Keep the good vibe we have going, and the one thing that I was really set on was trying to get a really good center prospect and I think we accomplished that. That was my main focus."
Of course, hockey is known for being a sport that doesn't exactly reward individuality. Even objectively hilarious celebrations are looked down upon by huge swaths of the hockey community. Having said that, it will be interesting to see if Askarov decides to tone any of that down, moving forward.
