New York Rangers place Stanley Cup champion on waivers to terminate deal
Several NHL insiders have stated that a rather notable name has appeared on the waiver wire this afternoon.
TSN's Chris Johnston announced on social media on Tuesday that Barclay Goodrow, a forward, was placed on waivers this afternoon by the New York Rangers.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Barclay Goodrow (NYR)." Johnston said.
The 31-year-old Goodrow played in 80 games for the Rangers this season, recording 78 penalty minutes, 12 points (four goals, eight assists), and a minus-13 rating. He continued to contribute eight points in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games (six goals, two assists).
With three years left on his deal, the native of Toronto, Ontario, has a $3,641,667 cap hit and a modified no-trade provision with a 15-team no-trade list.
