Dan Muse is the new Head Coach in Pittsburgh, and it appears he may be adding a beloved former Penguin to his staff in what would be a very popular move with the fanbase and the team.
The move has seen some backlash, but has mostly been received in a positive manner, with Muse seen as someone that can grow with this organization as they look to enter a new era, potentially beyond long-time captain
Sidney Crosby.
Now, Muse has seemingly made a very good decision, as reports have now emerged from DK Pittsburgh Sports that very popular former Penguin
Nick Bonino is potentially joining this coaching staff in some capacity.
The 37-year old played overseas in Austria last year, and from all reports, his lengthy NHL career on the ice is now over, and after becoming a key piece of the teams 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup runs, his hiring would be a welcome move from the fans.
Not only does he have the connection to Pittsburgh, but he has also played under Muse as an assistant in both Nashville and New York, and as he looks to begin his career post-playing days, this is the perfect start.
At this point, it's no where near official, but given what Bonino means to this fanbase, it would be a fantastic move as Muse looks to set the culture after a decade of Mike Sullivan, so don't be surprised if the Penguins announce this in the coming days.
