The Pittsburgh Penguins may have found something great in Boko Imama, and after the latest game, he is clearly getting the fans support.
The star of the night for Pittsburgh was Boko Imama, who earned the first-star of the game for the Penguins on the back of a goal, a fight and a great overall performance.
The performance drew him the praise of Head Coach Mike Sullivan as well, as the veteran coach couldn't contain his excitement about Imama both on and off the ice as a member of the Penguins organization.
"He brings so much positive energy to the rink every day. It's hard not to smile when you're around him. He's just an enthusiastic person. He loves hockey, he loves being at the rink, he loves being part of a team, he loves being a Penguin."
When Imama was interviewed after the game, he was asked about the reaction from the fans as he was announced as the first star, and unsurprisingly he absolutely loved the support of the crowd, who appreciated what he did in that game.
"It was great. Even after the fight, I felt the crowd getting into it. Obviously, following up with a goal is just the cherry on top. So, It was nice."
The fans certainly noticed his performance on social media too, with many raving about the incredible, infectious energy that Imama brings to this team along with his physicality.
Imama is a free agent at seasons end, and while he's unlikely to draw incredible attention around the league, he will be getting noticed, but after the support from the crowd and the coach, he may be sticking around in Pittsburgh.
