Injured Penguins forward Bryan Rust broke his silence by speaking about his injury, but his comments didn't offer much to fans in terms of when he will return.

Bryan Rust was back at Penguins practice on Wednesday, one week after missing time due to a lower-body injury.
The 33-year-old winger was placed on injured reserve to begin the season, and the team had expected that he would be out at least two weeks from the beginning.
Rust was a full practice participant in Cranberry, although his timeline for a return to game action is unclear.
Coach Dan Muse described his skate as "a good step," one day after Pittsburgh began the season by beating the Rangers 3-0 at Madison Square Garden.
"We'll continue to reevaluate after each step is taken," Muse said. "For right now, that's all I'd be able to update is that he practiced with the team, it was a good step and we'll go from there."

When questioned whether his return schedule had been altered, Rust merely stated, "You guys will have to wait and see," which didn't provide much clarity to fans.
"I feel good, but there's still conversations to be had with the staff and stuff, and just gonna go from there," Rust said later.

Bryan Rust Had a Career-Best Season Last Year With the Penguins

Rust established career highs with 31 goals and 65 points last season, which placed him third on the team in each, in his 11th NHL season. Rust has been a Pittsburgh career-long player.
The Penguins host the Islanders for their home opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday and then host the Rangers again on Saturday. From there, Pittsburgh embarks on a three-game West Coast swing.
Rust praised the effort the team displayed in New York and seemed eager to return to the ice.
Thursday's home opener will also be the 20th season that Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang have shared the ice. The three are the first in North American professional sports to have played two decades together as teammates.
There will be special giveaways and promotions honoring the milestone that are certain to excite fans.
The Penguins are looking for an early boost as they try to have a winning season and are eagerly awaiting Rust's return.
