Following tonight's game against the Winnipeg Jets, Penguins head coach Dan Muse has responded to the controversial goalie interference call made by the referees.

Tonight's game between the Winnipeg Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins was filled with controversy as early in the game the Winnipeg Jets scored a crucial goal that seemed to be goalie interference.
On the play, Penguins defenseman Erik Karlsson would be shoved by Winnipeg Jets forward Morgan Barron and go tumbling into goalie Arturs Silovs.
The Penguins would challenge the goal but ultimately fail as the referees upheld their initial call of a good goal.
The goal would spark a comeback for the Jets that would send the game to overtime and then ultimately a shootout pushing both teams to their limits.
In the hours after the game, fans, media, and, others called out the referees for the call and questioned whether the rules were properly applied.
Now, Penguins head coach Dan Muse has spoken to the media and given his thoughts on the play and the call.

Dan Muse breaks his silence on goalie interference controversy

During his post game press conference, Muse called the play a by the book goalie interference play adamantly disagreeing with the officials ruling.
We felt that one was by the book, in the sense that their player pushes (Karlsson) into (Silovs). That's why I challenged.

While Muse did share his displeasure for the call he did not directly blame the officials which will likely mean he avoids a fine from the NHL in the coming days.
Regardless of the call, the Penguins were able to take home an important win and continue to solidify their case for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot.
