Dan Muse calls out his team for embarrassing performance in crucial game vs. Hurricanes

Tonight, Penguins head coach Dan Muse has thrown his players under the bus with a quote after the team's loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Carolina Hurricanes this afternoon in a crucial game that could determine their Stanley Cup Playoff qualifying fate.
Unfortunately for the Penguins they came out flat and were utterly dominated losing 5-1 in a rout by the Hurricanes.
Beyond the score, the Penguins were only able to muster up 19 shots throughout the entire 60 minutes.
After the game, head coach Dan Muse spoke to the media and called out his players for lack of effort and coming out flat.

During his post game press conference, Muse called the team's effort and performance one of the worst of the season.
He then turned them blame from his players back towards himself admitting he needs to be better as well.
With the loss, the Penguins sit second in the Metropolitan Division still but are only 3 points ahead of the first team out of the playoffs the New York Islanders.
Now, it will be interesting to see how the Penguins respond after being called out and challenged by their head coach.
With 12 games left, the Penguins need to get their game going again or risk missing the playoffs altogether despite surpassing expectations.
The Penguins next opportunity to get back on track will come Tuesday against the best team in the NHL the Colorado Avalanche.
