New Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Muse is singling out prospect forward Ben Kindel for praise after his strong showing in training camp.
Multiple Pittsburgh Penguins prospects had the chance to show the coaching staff what they're capable of during training camp, and will have additional chances to do so during the preseason.
One of the prospects is Ben Kindel, who was taken with the
11th overall pick by the Penguins in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
Penguins head coach Dan Muse, who will be in his 1st year in Pittsburgh after being hired by Pittsburgh to replace the terminated Mike Sullivan,
has been impressed by Kindel so far.
He has been a lot of fun to watch. He's one of those players where at times the game looks easy to him, because he puts himself in such good positions.
You saw it at the rookie tournament and you're seeing it here in practices. And that's not an easy thing for a young player like that.

Kindel has been taking everything in and even though he wants to be living in the moment, he wants to focus on controlling what he can control.
I just want to live in the moment, play my game, work hard, try my best, control the things that I can control. All those things. I think you hear them a lot from the coaches and the players, but I think it's important to have that mindset.
Ben Kindel was Pittsburgh's 1st pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft
Kindel is from British Columbia and has played the last 3 years in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen; he has 159 points (50G, 109A) in 134 total games in a Hitman sweater.
He'll have a chance to make the Penguins final roster if he impresses enough during the preseason; otherwise he'll likely play for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL.
