The Penguins will face the Blackhawks tonight as Arturs Silovs will start, and Danton Heinen was left without a locker at the arena.

The Pittsburgh Penguins return from the holiday break to face the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, with puck drop at 7 PM Eastern. Arturs Silovs is set to start in goal for Pittsburgh.
The Penguins have earned points in six of their last nine games versus Chicago (5-3-1) and have points in three of their last four trips to the United Center (2-1-1).
Kris Letang has 10 points (1G-9A) over his last 14 games and is two points shy of 20 for the 18th time in his career, which would make him the 15th defenseman in NHL history with 18+ 20-point seasons.
Erik Karlsson has points in six of his last nine games (2G-6A) and 11 points (2G-9A) in December alone, moving closer to surpassing Brad Park for 14th-most points by a defenseman in NHL history.
Bryan Rust has 12 points (7G-5A) in 13 career games against Chicago, with points in four straight matchups.
Rust's goal against Toronto on Tuesday gave him 30 points this season (13G-17A) and marks the ninth consecutive season he's reached 30 points.

The milestone that Sidney Crosby can reach tonight

This game marks Pittsburgh's final road game of 2025. Captain Sidney Crosby has 40 points (22G-18A) in 38 road games this year, one point shy of tying Gordie Howe for the ninth-most road points in NHL history.
Crosby has reached 20 goals for the 18th time in his career, with eight on the power play.

Why Danton Heinen was disrespected by Chicago arena staff

The Penguins were also met with a surprising setback as forward Danton Heinen was snubbed by Chicago arena staff and left without a locker. We'll see if that gives him and his team extra motivation to steal a victory tonight.
Pittsburgh ranks third in the NHL on the power play at 29.3%, and defenseman Brett Kulak is one assist shy of 100 career assists, so there are plenty of storylines to follow along to in tonight's game.
