Tonight, a new report from Elliotte Friedman has revealed that two unexpected division rivals of the Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to target Quinn Hughes.

Over the last several days reports surrounding Quinn Hughes' future have dominated the NHL news cycle with a trade seeming more likely each day.
Initially, reports indicated that the New Jersey Devils were the front runner to land Quinn to reunite him with his brothers and allow the Canucks to rebuild.
The Devils seem like the most logical fit with Quinn admitting his desire to play with his brothers but Patrik Allvin and the Canucks currently hold all of the leverage and could look to deal him elsewhere.
A new report from Elliotte Friedman has suggested that the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers are going to make a push to acquire Hughes.

Pair of Penguins division rivals linked to Quinn Hughes

According to a new report from Elliotte Friedman, the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers could end up being two attractive trade partners in a Hughes deal.
The Canucks of course are desperate for help down the middle at center and a deal involving Quinn would likely need to involve a talented center going back the other way.
This likely eliminates the Flyers but if Quinn gets any control over the process he could want to play with his former head coach Rick Tocchet in Philly.
As for the Capitals, they have a lot more to offer when it comes to swapping Hughes for a center both in their current lineup and in their prospect pool coming up.
For now, Hughes remains a Canuck and this situation will be one to follow over the next couple of months ahead of the NHL trade deadline.
