A new report from ESPN discusses a pair of places that current Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby could accept a trade to if he decides to move on.

Much of the speculation surrounding the Pittsburgh Penguins is the future of longtime franchise mainstay and captain Sidney Crosby, who still wants to win a Stanley Cup before he retires.
The chances of that happening with the Penguins are extremely slim, considering the Penguins are projected as a longshot at best to even realistically compete for a playoff spot this year, much less another Stanley Cup.
Crosby does have 2 years left on his contract, including this one, but even despite his famous loyalty to the Penguins, he could potentially be persuaded to ask for a trade to a stronger team with a far better chance at competing for a title.
Per a new report from NHL on ESPN analyst Arda Ocal, Crosby could very well ask to be traded and then lists the same pair of teams that he's been linked to, the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens.
[Crosby has been] very loyal and he's been a team-friendly guy for such a long time, but if he has the hunger to want to win a Stanley Cup again, then certainly [he could be traded]. We could certainly see a situation where we see him in different threads.»

Sidney Crosby signed for another 2 years with the Penguins

Crosby's loyalty to a team that he knows doesn't have a realistic chance of winning the Stanley Cup is something to admire.
He agreed to sign a 2 year extension prior to last year with his traditional AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million, a clear nod to his sweater number and a far lower number than what he could get on the open market from another club.
But will the lure of winning another Stanley Cup before he retires prove too strong for Crosby's loyalty to Pittsburgh?
