During last night's game between the Penguins and Ducks, Pittsburgh's play-by-play man, Josh Getzoff, was rushed out of the arena in a wheelchair after passing out.
The incident happened during the second intermission of the Penguins' 4-3 loss to the Ducks.
Josh Getzoff Checked in With the Team and Reported He was Doing Well
Getzoff was later taken to a hospital. The Penguins did not issue a statement on his status, but a team source said Getzoff reported himself that he was doing well.
With Getzoff unable to call the third period of Tuesday's game, broadcast crews had to scramble. Joe Brand ran over from the radio broadcast to the TV area and called the rest of the game along with Colby Armstrong.
Meanwhile, Penguins director of team operations Jason Seidling had to fill in the radio broadcast alongside Phil Bourque.
Bourque shared on the air a message to the fans during the third period that he heard Getzoff was alright.
Getzoff, who is a Pennsylvania native, recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary as a broadcaster for the team.
This is his third season as the TV play-by-play man for SportsNet Pittsburgh, and prior to that, Getzoff called the Penguins' games on the radio side of things.
