Flyers fans call for Blake Lizotte to be suspended after questionable slash on Garnet Hathaway

Tonight, Philadelphia Flyers fans are outraged and calling for Penguins forward Blake Lizotte to be punished for a brutal slash on Garnet Hathaway.
The Pittsburgh Penguins went into Philadelphia tonight and utterly dominated the Flyers taking home a 5-1 win.
Despite the impressive win much of the conversation following tonight's game has been based around controversial heated moments between the two rival teams.
The tension began with Flyers forward Trevor Zegras taunting defenseman Connor Clifton.
This was followed later in the game by a big hit from Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway who was then immediately slashed between the legs by Blake Lizotte who took the hit.
Hathaway seemed to be in a significant amount of pain but only a minor penalty was called on the play by the officials to the dismay of Flyers fans.
Now, with the game concluded, fans are calling for Lizotte to be suspended by Gary Bettman.

Following the game, fans took to social media to call out Lizotte for his antics and to plead with Gary Bettman to bring down the hammer on him.
Over the next 24 hours, Gary Bettman and the NHL's Department of Player Safety will have to examine the play and determine whether or not Lizotte deserves to be punished.
If Lizotte misses any time the Penguins will likely have to make a roster move calling a player up from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL.
