With the NHL season in full swing former Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Jan Drozg has yet to sign with a new team leaving his future in professional hockey in doubt.
The NHL Draft can be an absolute roll of the dice every single year with some years landing a team with a player like Ben Kindel or Harrison Brunicke while other years a player does not pan out.
For former 5th round pick of the Penguins Jan Drozg the road in professional hockey has been anything but smooth.
After being selected by the Penguins in 2017, Drozg spent the next 5 seasons trying to push through and earn a spot in the NHL playing at multiple different levels including the QMJHL, ECHL, and AHL.
Unfortunately for Drozg a future in the NHL was just not in the cards for the Slovenian forward leading him to head over to Russia for the last three seasons.
Now, despite a successful campaign with Kunlun Red Star in the KHL last season Drozg finds himself without a pro contract and waiting for a phone call.

According to recent reports, Drozg has been unable to secure a professional contract in Europe despite continuing to play with the Slovenian National Team at various events.
At the moment, Drozg seems to be holding out for the right opportunity as he has reportedly been offered a contract to return home to the Slovenian league but has repeatedly rebuffed teams who have reached out.
With Drozg unsigned heading into December it remains to be seen how long he can go before truly endangering his career overall.
As more news on Drozg's future and potential next team surface we will pass along the latest news.
