K'Andre Miller appears to be on the way out in New York, and now Elliotte Friedman has confirmed the news as Pittsburgh emerge as perfect landing spot.
The New York Rangers have completely changed this roster over the past 12 months, with their recent trade of Chris Kreider making it Kreider, Trouba, Kakko, Chytil and many others on the way out during that time.
Now, we may be seeing another key piece of their team moved, as Elliotte Friedman has confirmed rumours that star defenseman K'Andre Miller is indeed on the trade block, with the team simply having no interest in signing him to a long-term deal.
At 25-years of age, the Rangers simply don't believe in Miller, but after posting 43 points three seasons ago, there's clearly still plenty of talent in the Minnesota native if he's given the right opportunity.
That opportunity may be in Pittsburgh, as many believe the Penguins could be the perfect landing spot for Miller, who needs a bigger role to thrive, and alongside veteran Kris Letang, he could potentially have a career year.
With the likes of Adam Fox leading the power play, Miller simply never got the chance to show off just how good a player he can be, and while there's definitely a risk in pursuing him, it makes sense for Pittsburgh, as the team could ink him to a long-term deal and potentially flip him if things don't work out in the next few years.
If Friedman is right and Miller is truly available, there will be plenty of interest in the former first-round pick however, so the Penguins may need to pay up to make a deal happen, and with the team described as the NHL's only sellers by Pierre LeBrun recently, it's safe to say that they'd need to change that philosophy a little to make this deal happen.
