Metro Division Team Urged to Sign Martin Necas from the Colorado Avalanche

The Philadelphia Flyers are being urged to make a move for Martin Necas, who is reportedly not fully happy with his time with the Colorado Avalanche after being acquired from Carolina in the Mikko Rantanen blockbuster trade.
The Colorado Avalanche pulled off a whopping blockbuster trade that almost nobody saw coming earlier this year, sending star Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes and receiving Martin Necas and Jack Drury in return.
The reasoning behind the trade is that Colorado management reportedly thought they weren't getting enough of a commitment from Rantanen that he'd sign a new long-term extension, and they dealt him for assets rather than potentially lose him for nothing this summer.
Meanwhile, Necas, Drury, and the Avalanche would be eliminated from Round 1 of the postseason by the Dallas Stars and, ironically, Mikko Rantanen, who was later traded to the Stars at the Trade Deadline.
Now, reports are surfacing that Necas wasn't thrilled with the brief time he spent with the Avalanche and could be looking to move on.
William James of Philly Hockey Now suggests that the Philadelphia Flyers should be a team to show interest in a potential acquisition of Necas if the Avalanche make him available.
Let's get back to the basics. Necas is a 26-year-old forward who will be 27 by the time the 2025/26 season ends. The Czech forward is coming off a career high of 83 points split between two clubs last season.
With Carolina, Necas tallied 16 goals and 39 assists for 55 points in 49 games-just over a point per game. In Colorado, Necas had 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 30 games, which put him just under a point per game with the Avs. His combined stats: 27 goals and 56 assists for 83 points, 1.05 points per game.
