Frustrated Penguins Fans Send a Strong Message Despite Winning Streak
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been building momentum as of late, and while some fans are getting behind them, others are sending a message to the organization.
Over the past week, the Pittsburgh Penguins have suddenly vaulted themselves back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs race in the Eastern Conference on the back of four straight victories.
On Saturday night, they faced the New Jersey Devils at home, and while they decimated them 7-3 to keep their hopes alive, there was a notable absence of fans in the arena, and according to Josh Yohe, there could be a reason for that.
«There were 3,000 empty seats, something you never see during the annual St. Patrick's Day weekend home game. This is a reflection on the season the Penguins have had and ticket prices.»

Like so many other teams around the league, the Penguins have continued to raise prices of season tickets, and given their lack of good performances this season, it's clear that some fans aren't in support of the way things have been handled.
According to Yohe however, the crowd that was in attendance brought a fantastic atmosphere, and if the team can get themselves closer in the Stanley Cup Playoffs race, there's no doubt that those other fans will return too.
Given the lack of star power beyond their veteran stars however, it's easy to see why the support in Pittsburgh has gone down this season, and with a rebuild/re-tool on the way and ticket prices going up, this could potentially get worse.
