Sidney Crosby has been the talk of the NHL as of late, and while the Canadiens appear to be on a potential list of teams he'd join, he's not leaving anytime soon.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are a team that have been involved in plenty of trade speculation this summer, and unsurprisingly, that has involved long-time captain Sidney Crosby.
In previous years, the idea of him being moved would be ridiculous to NHL fans, but with the team missing the post-season for three straight years and not being set up to win anytime soon, speculation has grown around the superstar centre.
That has continued into this off-season, and now, Frank Seravalli has revealed a potential short list of teams that he could potentially be willing to join if he were ever ready to move on from the Penguins.
While that list unsurprisingly includes Colorado, the most intriguing team on the list is the Montreal Canadiens, a team that are set up to win now if they can get that one big superstar up front to lead them forward.
Add to that that the Montreal Canadiens are the closest team to where Crosby grew up, and it's one that makes perfect sense, even if Seravalli did end his comments with Crosby not showing interest in being traded... yet.
At the end of the day, Crosby will be traded if he wants too, and if he wants to remain a Penguin for the rest of his career, the organization will no doubt respect those wishes, but if he does decide that one last shot at a Stanley Cup is the way he wants to go out in the coming years, expect Montreal to be at the top of the list of teams he's willing to join.
