Insider Reveals the Only Person Who Could Push Sidney Crosby Out of Pittsburgh

There have been whispers about Sidney Crosby's future in the NHL over the past few years, and this off-season they've grown louder, with Frank Seravalli even revealing the three teams he could join if he one day looks to depart the Pittsburgh Penguins.

To this point however, Crosby has shown no desire to depart the team he's currently spent the past two decades with as captain, and heading into the 2025/26 season, it hasn't changed.

With the Penguins missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for three straight seasons however, there is a growing sense that he could potentially want out to have one last shot at a Stanley Cup, and after another productive season in 2024/25, he'll be one of the most desired players in the NHL if he does reveal that he wants out.

Currently, the Penguins have no desire to push him out either, but on a recent podcast, Insider Pierre McGuire revealed the one person that could end up forcing Crosby out of Pittsburgh.

Unsurprisingly, that person is Crosby himself, and McGuire clearly believes that if Crosby ever does want out, he'll have the power to decide where he goes, and given what he's done for the organization, he has earned that.

To this point though, there's been no signs that Crosby wants out, and while that could change in the future, there is only one person that can change that, and that is No. 87 himself.
